Parents in Action will participate with a Workshop at the First US Social Forum to be held in Atlanta, Georgia from June 27th to July 1st, 2007

Thusday, June 28th, 2007
3:30pm to 5:30pm
Side Room - Apex Museum

Exposing the Cradle-to-Prison-Pipeline Industry, its design and aims: Finding creative solutions to dismantle it.

To expose the design, modus operandi, and control mechanisms of the Cradle-to-Prison Industry. To make and analysis based on Race and Class, and any other perspective in order to understand its aims and inter-relationship among its different components.

Among the components that we will question are:

Public Schooling to dumb down the masses and train them to serve their masters

Special Ed classes to destroy the natural elite of people of color.

The forced drugging of bright children with Ritalin and Concerta to produce chemical lobotomy.

Child Protective Services (CPS) as the Greatest Child Abuser and a weapon to terrorize poor people.

Foster Care as Slavery.

No-Knock warrants as a weapon to terrorize poor people.

The criminalization of youth of color under any ridiculous excuse.

Juvenile Justice System to prepare them for the Prison System.

Racists Drug laws.

Racists Mandatory Sentencing laws.

Racist Prison System.

The predatory practices of the Adult Protective Services (APS) and its impact on poor people.

The role of the Social Workers, Psychologists, and Psychiatrists as Gatekeepers for the design.

The involuntary inprisoning, drugging and torture of people in Psychiatric Hospitals.

The role of the Family Court Judges, Law Guardians and most attorneys in giving this racketeering enterprise an aura of legality.

The ignoring of the Bill of Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the State when dealing with poor people.

We had a similar workshop at the New York City Social Forum in October 2004. See

http://www.parentsinaction.net/english/nyc-sf-10-28-04.htm

We have learnt much since.

We would like to collaborate with other organizations that have similar points of view to make this workshop a success. We are aware that although in New York City the design to produce Maximun Social Harm, is applied almost exclusively on Blacks and Latinos who happen to be poor, in other parts of the country where there are no Blacks or Latinos, the same blueprint is used by the local warlords with Whites who are poor. At the lower level the design is driven by the profit motive which fits perfectly with the low consciousness of most of its workers; at a higher level is a sophisticated multi-level, multi-pronged Social Engineered Design to mantain the present status quo and the privileged position of power of certain groups.
