Program: Registration starts at 9:30am (Event Free of Charge)

a) EDUCATION (10:00am – 12:00pm)

*Amendments to the US Constitution; the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; the Convention on the Rights of the Child; and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights

*Youth for Human Rights Video

*Explaining Article 12, 16 and 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; the Preamble, and Articles 8, 9 and 16 of the Convention on the Rights of the Child; the IV, VIII, IX, XIII, and XIV Amendments of the US Constitution: all in relation to the Child Welfare System.

LUNCH (12:00pm – 12:30pm): Half-an-hour break where lunch will be provided

b) TESTIMONY (12:30pm – 2:00pm)

Come and testify about Human Rights Abuses. After every person’s testimony the Jury will vote and the facilitator will report on what amendments and articles have been violated.

c) PLENARY (2:00pm – 3:00pm)

Summary and evaluation of the violations of the US Constitution and Human Rights Violations and conclusions on the necessary steps to change the present situation.
